Guitar Hero III: Beat on Medium
June 11, 2008 – 11:08 pmYes, Mark, water is still wet but I beat Guitar Hero III on medium today nonetheless. I have to wonder how the scoring algorithm changes as the notes get closer together because I noticed that if I just mashed the buttons and strummed I got credit for a lot of notes I know I didn’t hit correctly (…so that’s how Evan beat it on expert!).
I’m going to have to revisit medium and perfect the songs before I try another hard song again because I tried the first hard one and that 5th note just totally screws me up (as Evan screams, “I told you to use your index finger for the first two notes!”). Do the tutorials help you figure out how and when to shift your hand up and down the neck? I need a lot of practice!
Without further adieu, here’s the proof (and no I didn’t Photoshop it!):

well done, could be the hammer on’s and pull off’s those can cover a lot of notes that you don’t have to strum. YEa I hear ya I went back and 5 starred all the medium songs before I seriously tackled hard.

way to go! I thought that some of the songs were actually harder on medium than on hard because the notes were so much different than the actual rhythm in the song.
I think it’s also probably worth noting that I just beat GHII on expert – nearly straight through (having repeated miserlou and freebird once).

I would love to watch you play some time. I had enough trouble with the first song on hard! :-p
