Are you kidding me, Microsoft?!
March 18, 2008 – 8:28 pmWindows Vista Service Pack 1 was released today. I figured I’d give it a shot since I’m very disappointed with Vista’s performance and SP1 is supposed to fix some sluggishness issues. This is the screen that appeared when I ran the SP1 setup:

Combined with the file size of 434MB I’m quite skeptical about this whole service pack.
I’ll keep you updated with the installation results.

I’ve made it to the other side!
The update took exactly one (1) hour.

Wow, there are whole OS’s that include way more out of the box than windows that are smaller than that and definitely can be installed in less than an hour
Good luck with that beast.

Yeah…I’ll need it.
I’ve been very dissatisfied with Vista so far.

I installed it today. It’s not a radical change. I’ve noticed a few differences, and haven’t had it tell me it was going to take 54,000 days to copy a 119MB file, but it’s still vista.
meh.

You all ought to be glad to live in a country great enough to deal with new windows operating systems and continue to be a beacon for the world. damn communists

I agree, but I feel like Microsoft has switched from “trying” to create quality products to simply letting their users test everything for them, keeping track of what happens, and then fixing what’s wrong - hence the size of this update.
