I just want to play already!

January 21, 2008 – 10:28 pm

Last night I decided to buy the expansion pack for World of Warcraft, Burning Crusade because I’m now level 58 and can take advantage of it. I made the purchase, started the download, and went about playing the game. My download lagged out the game so badly that I canceled it and restarted it right before I went to bed. It still wasn’t done this morning due to my computer randomly rebooting in the middle of the night. I re-restarted the download and it ran through the day. I came home from work and my computer was asleep. I re-re-restarted the download. 2 hours to go, it said. I thought, screw it, I’ll just resume the download when I go to bed tonight. When I tried to play I got the following error messages.

Server Full

Burning Crusade Required

So it turns out I need to finish that download before I can play ever again. I finished the download which took at least two more hours and installed the upgrade. Sweet…now I can play! Hah…yeah right! I launched the game, signed in and…

Crappy Bandwidth

Only 7 more hours until I can play! Which means it’ll probably be three days the way the rest of the downloads have gone.

*SIGH*

UPDATE: Jan 22 @ 7:19 AM

I went downstairs to my laptop this morning to find out that the download had finished! When I went to play, however, I was prompted with the following series of depressing screens:

Another Patch

Yet Another Patch

Server Maintenance

So after all of that I STILL can’t play!
